Coaching FAQ
Who is 1:1 coaching for?
Players who already play mid to high stakes (or aspire to) and want a clearer process. If you are willing to study between sessions and bring hands and questions, we will make fast progress.
What games do you coach?
Fixed limit games of all types. I also can help with tournament PLO, PLO/8, and big bet draw games. If you are unsure whether your exact game fits, contact me, and I will tell you about my experience with it.
What does a coaching hour look like?
We pick one or two high leverage themes, review hands and theory questions around those topics, and make sure you understand the concepts at work. You leave with a clear plan and drills to practice.
What should I send before the session?
Your game mix, stakes, where you play (live or online), and a small set of hands that represent your biggest questions. If you have recurring leak notes or database filters, even better.
Do I need my own solver work to benefit?
No. Solver work is a tool, not the goal. I use it to explain theory and clarify thresholds, then we translate it into decisions you can execute in real lineups.
How does the Lab fit with coaching?
The Lab is for reps and self study between sessions. Coaching is where we choose priorities, build your framework, and make sure your study time is pointed in the right direction. Together, it becomes a feedback loop.
How does scheduling work, and how often should we meet?
Most students start with a single hour to make sure the fit is right. After that, cadence depends on how much you play and how much study time you have. If you do the homework, less frequent sessions can still be very effective.
