After my last post detailed my triple draw grinding, I really don't have a lot to report, as I've hardly played since. I've been working on some programming projects for DeucesCracked, and was in Seattle for a bit over a week to see the other owners / EPs face to face, and get some work done. Sorry to make this blog sound like DC spam, but really when I'm not playing poker its about all I do. The most notable thing I can show anyone are some slight updates to www.thehandconverter.com as well as the hand converter UI on 2+2. One thing that's been a lot of fun is finally getting competent with my Perl programming, and being able to actually make some updates / add some features without having to research something incredibly simple.
Because of my increased programming work I ended up getting a macbook pro, with all the bells and whistles, so I have the same environment the other coders use on DC, and also it just seems pretty clearly superior at this point for business, programming, basically everything but poker. I guess I've been accumulating toys recently as I got a humanscale freedom chair for the office, which is a sweet upgrade over my old configuration. Courtney also wanted a wii fit so we had to get the whole wii system, accessories, and a few games, which she uses much more than I do so far.
Seattle was great though apparently rainier than normal for this time of year. I was just excited to get a Jetblue direct flight both ways. It was nice to see the other guys face to face and I made a lot of progress on some code project development, though at this point the biggest hurdle is my complete inability to program in Ruby, Javascript, HTML, etc. Basically any "internet languages" still confuse the hell out of me, but I hope to rectify it with total immersion, and see if I can't figure things out like I have somewhat done with Perl.
Courtney and I head up to Anaheim tonight for the weekend, as she is running the half marathon at Disneyland on Sunday, and then we'll spend some time in the park on Sunday and Monday. After that things might get normal at least for a little while and I should be mostly home working on programming projects and avoiding much poker. New season starts on DeucesCracked on Monday, check out my triple draw series!
